Ianis Hagi made an immediate impact following his return from a Covid-19 enforced absence continuing from where he left off before the last international break, the Romanian playmaker becoming a key player under Steven Gerrard – especially with Ryan Kent out injured.

The summer transfer window saw Hagi linked with a return to Serie A and with a move to Galatasaray, however, the 22-year old was never the subject of any concrete bids.

Now though, Roma are said to be eyeing up a January move for the creative midfielder in a deal beleived to be worth around £17million, not that the player himself is paying any attentions, as reported by the Glasgow Times:

“Right now I’m in a position where [today] there is a game. After five days, there is another game.

“I’m fully concentrated on Rangers. I don’t think right now is the moment to talk about transfers. The transfer window just ended so there is no point even talking about transfers.

“I’m just focusing on my game, on Rangers. There is an international break soon. So that’s where my head is.”

Hagi will always be a player that teams will be aware of, his status as a former Golden Boy nominee and performances in major youth tournaments – and of course his family name – make him an attractive option both on and off the park – the figures being mentioned would certainly give Ross Wilson a decision to make though.

Rangers went toe-to-toe with Inter Milan to sign Ronaldo when he left Barcelona.

His dedication to Rangers can’t be questioned though, paying for a private jet out of his own pocket so that he could get back to Glasgow and training quicker is a testament to his loyalty towards Steven Gerrard and his coaching staff.

The gaffer spoke this week about Hagi’s obsession with getting better, staying behind to work on the training pitch and in the gym, there’s a saying about talent not working without hard work and it’s certainly something that the Gers number seven could never be accused of as he looks to squeeze every last ounce of his own unquestionable talent.
