One thing is certain, Rangers fans can expect to see at least one new face before there are any departures to worry about, recent speculation linking the Light Blues with players capable of adding goals and assists from a deeper position.

Angelo Fulgini and Malik Tillman have both been linked, the former having already signed for Mainz in the Bundesliga, and it looks as though the latter is only being allowed to leave Bayern Munich on loan.

What may have been missed in teh excitement of Rabbi Matondo’s announcement is that we have also made a bid for Algerian international Adem Zorgane, according to French football journalist Nabil Djellit:

“Charleroi have been approached by Toulouse and Rangers for Zorgane. But offers deemed insufficient. The midfielder has extended until 2027. The Belgian club, whose relations are good with Paradou, is in advanced contact to recover Benbouali”.

The translation isn’t great but it’s clear that we made an offer to Charleroi for Zorgane, it was rejected and he has since signed a new contract on improved terms, whether or not we go back in for the 22-year old, we’ll need to wait and see.

The 6ft tall midfielder is capable of playing similar roles to that of Glen Kamara and will do a job in most positions in the engine room, that he plays in  a league where Ross Wilson has shopped in the past also hasn’t gone unnoticed – as in the case of Fulgini though, if the price quoted doesn’t match our valuation, we’ll simply move on to the next target, plenty more fish in the sea and all that.
