Rangers have reportedly opened talks with Martin Olsson over a move to the club and will be aiming to bat off competition from Nottingham Forest – according to the Scottish Sun.

The Gers need to sign a new left-back in this window and it appears as though Olsson could well be the ideal solution to that.

Available as a free agent, the Swedish international provides powerful running down that flank and could be a good addition both offensively as well as going the other way.

He’s got a thunderous left foot, too, and so could well be the ideal man to complement James Tavernier going down the other side of the pitch for us.

Certainly, the Gers’ defence is expected to look different for the new campaign but if we can get Olsson in that would be a step in the right direction.

For sure, it looks like we’re trying to get it done.

  • Young kids on loan and old has beens on free transfers. Same old story. Get rid of Morelos and spend the cash on some quality. Tavernier has been brilliant and it will be sad if we lose him.
