It looks like the narrative has been well and truly set for the remaining fixtures of the Scottish Premiership season after a weekend in which the desire to create controversy over Rangers 1-0 win over Aberdeen far outweighed the actual reality of any.

Sportscene has, of course, been front and centre in hoping to paint the picture of fortune falling at the feet of the Ibrox side, an alleged foul in the build up to Kemar Roofe’s goal and whether or not it was offside.

Both “incidents” were ruled as being much a do about nothing, Calvin Ramsey simply wasn’t strong enough when trying to see the ball out for a goal kick, and as for Roofe’s positioning for the winning goal, he was miles onside, it shouldn’t even have been a question and yet that is what they were using as part of their analysis – never mind the foul on Scott Arfield that should have resulted in a red card or a possible penalty for Declan Gallagher’s block from the same player’s shot.

There have been interviews with – what it seems like – every Aberdeen player about how you never get the big decisions against Rangers, bizarre when you consider the penalty that they got at Pittodrie just a few weeks ago.

It’s a sight that we will, unfortunately, have to get used to as the title race hots up, Jim Goodwin’s allegiances shining through like a beacon  when he claimed his side were robbed of a point and deserved something from the game – they had one shot, in total, the whole game – there’s nothing like trying to divert attention onto the officials when your limited tactics have failed.
