See if you come across a grown up who refers to Rangers as “Sevco”, then it’s probably advisable to give them a wide berth, it certainly isn’t worth entertaining them with the hope of a mature or civilised conversation and yet, they do still walk among us, trying to persuade anyone who will listen that the team they hate so much and spend so much time obsessing over, isn’t the same one that entered administration in 2012.

There are two types of people, those who still think the “yer club’s deid” patter is still hilarious and adults who have more than a solitary brain cell. The same people who will quote headlines from The Daily Record as justification for their argument whilst also calling the same publication The Daily Rangers or claim that everything in the Scottish media is fantasy – the least you can do is make your mind up.

Personally, I’m not sure who to believe. After all, only FIFA, UEFA, the SPFL, and an actual liquidator have all stated that Rangers are the same club but, if The Record and The Herald had a headline saying we are dead then it must be true, after all, they never sensationalise or use hyperbole do they?

We all know them, we see them all over social media warning us about entering administration for whatever time they think it might be, even if we post a profit at our next accounts you can guarantee that we will see something, they can’t help themselves, their lives are consumed by us.

The events of 2012 and the years that followed will forever be one of the darkest times in our existence but, we saw the light at the end of the tunnel, ruined their dreams with 55, and the 14th of February will forever cause them more pain and anguish than it will us. Why? Because they thought that they had killed us off.

They can call us “Sevco” all they want, but you know, I know, and they know, that we are the people and we are, and always will be, the famous Glasgow Rangers!
