Anyone watching carefully during the Partick Thistle v Rangers friendly on Monday would have noticed some subtle difference on the players shirts – the ‘pro version’.

This was apparent in the close-up shots from the photographers as shown on Rangers social channels.

Different editions

The first clear difference was the Castore logo – on the player version it is printed as opposed to the embroidered style on the standard replica shirt.

Next is the material and the feel of the shirt, which appears softer and is possibly a better quality version but without comparing like for like, this cant be verified just yet.

Last season, Castore released both editions of the home shirt so it is very likely that the same will happen this time around.

Another something to look out for is an unsponsored version of the 150th anniversary home shirt.

Numbers have not been clarified, but there will be a release of this version – that was confirmed to VitalRangers by a source within Ibrox.

Further releases will follow with three additional kits and the associated training kit and leisure wear to complete the extensive offering from Rangers kit partners, Castore – in the second year of a ‘multi-year’ contract, believed to be worth around £25 million to the Ibrox club.
