Alfredo Morelos continues to be a wanted man and the recent speculation linking him with a mega-bucks move to Serie A giants AC Milan is one that has been met with approval from several observers.

Former England international, Danny Mills, talking to Football Insider, believes that the transfer would make sense and that the Colombian international would be a success in Italy.

So what has Mills said?

The Radio Five Live pundit has backed Morelos to shine for the Rossoneri and that ability wouldn’t be an issue when asked if he would be able to cope with a step-up in league:

“I can’t see why not.

“Milan aren’t the powerhouse they once were. They’re not challenging for Serie A season on season. They’re not blowing teams away and challenging for the Champions League.

“He’s got all the ability.

“If he keeps his head, and he plays to his strengths and doesn’t allow his emotions or weaknesses to take over, then without a doubt he can play in that league.”

So is Mills correct?

Absolutely, Morelos has shown in the Europa League alone that he has the potential to play at the highest level on the continent and given Milan’s stature, they would certainly fit the bill of a club that could meet both the player and the club’s demands.

Rangers have reportedly rejected bids of both £13million and £16m for their talisman with it being made clear that £20m remains the price that will see El Bufalo depart Ibrox, given Sheffield United’s £18.5m signing of Aaron Ramsdale, it seems a pretty fair price in comparison.

Would Morelos shine at Milan?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Morelos has two goals and two assists to his name so far this season but was largely anonymous against the packed Livingston defence at the weekend, given the extra resources now available, Steven Gerrard now faces a dilemma in more ways than one as he looks to guide his side to what would be one of the most celebrated league victories in the club’s history should he achieve the ultimate aim of winning title number 55.
