Rangers reserve midfielder Jamie Barjonas is said to be heading for the exit at Ibrox.

He has been tipped to link up with Gers partner club Orange County who play in the US 2nd tier, USL Championship, according to Jordan Campbell of The Athletic.

Barjonas has been trusted enough to be part of Steven Gerrard’s group over the last couple of years, but he has not made any first team appearances this season.

He has been a regular in the Europa League squads, but that probably has more to do with the home-grown quota requisite.

In January last year, the 22 year-old went out on loan to Partick Thistle but only made five appearances for the Jags.

At the outset of the current campaign, he had a decent cameo in Rangers pre-season win over Nice in the Veoila Trophy where he helped himself to the second goal in a 2-0 win.

This suggested there could be a chance for the player to make an impact but it has not materialised.

With his latest deal set to expire at the end of this season, Jamie Barjonas looks set for a taste of life in California and with a decent chance of progression to MLS, it is far from the worst career/life opportunity.
