Daniel Candeias thinks Rangers teammate Alfredo Morelos will massively benefit from playing alongside Colombian stars like James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao, speaking to The Scottish Sun.

Morelos’ 29 goals so far this season has alerted national team boss Carlos Queiroz to his ability and potential, with the 22-year-old receiving a call-up to play Japan and South Korea during this international break.

The player was pictured rubbing shoulders with the £59m-rated Rodriguez and Falcao during the unveiling of Colombia’s new kit, leaving Rangers fans delighted.

Candeias thinks the whole experience will be important for the striker’s development.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the 31-year-old said:

It is important for Morelos to play with guys like James and Falcao, who are great players in world football. I think he can get to that level. When you play with great players like that, then you will only improve more.

Alfredo is still only 22, so if he continues these performances then  he can reach that level too. I saw the photo of him with Colombia. I have not spoken to him about it, but I will soon. Morelos has a strong mentality, even though he is a young boy.

He has improved a lot this year. All of the players have. I am happy with Morelos, and of course it’s important for him to score a lot of goals.

Strikers like goals and that’s important for Rangers and him. I like playing with Alfredo. All the players help him because he can’t do anything alone.

Colombia face Japan tomorrow morning UK time and fans will be intrigued about what kind of action Morelos gets throughout the 90 minutes and also how he plays alongside elite players.

Of course the overriding hope will also be he does not get injured or pick up any kind of knock considering we face Celtic next weekend in Scottish Premiership action.

I’m wishing all the luck in the world towards the classy wee man.
