The will he won’t he transfer back to Rangers of striker Kyle Lafferty certainly rumbled on and although some had concerns given history, the 31-year-old has certainly hit the ground running back at the club and he was on the scoresheet once more at the weekend.
Coming on for Ryan Kent for the final 20 minutes in the Ibrox based Premiership tie against St Johnstone, Lafferty hit our fourth on the day to join James Tavernier, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and latterly, Daniel Candeias on the scoresheet as we registered a comfortable 5-1 victory to move into second place in the table.
It was Lafferty’s fourth of the season back in our shirt, in only seven appearances so between him and Morelos, and then Umar Sadiq to consider, hopes are high that we have more than enough firepower to last between now and the end of the season.
With a number of players coming in for praise, Lafferty was always going to be one of them as he took to social media following the game.
