Rangers will get a chance to avenge the five points that they have dropped at Tynecastle this season by returning to the scene of the crime to face Hearts in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
After easing past Hamilton 4-1 in a game that could’ve been won in the first-half with Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos both guilty of missing chances, Steven Gerrard will be keen to get another crack at the Jambos and make amends for his side’s failures in the league.
The draw had been mildly exciting as Rangers and Celtic were both left in the pot with St Johnstone and the thought of an Old Firm cup game which would’ve whetted the appetite of both sets of fans, however, it was the Ibrox club that was pulled out to leave their city rivals facing the Saints in Perth.
Will it be third time lucky at Tynecastle for the Gers?
Yes
No
Gers fans took to Twitter at the announcement of the draw and were keen not to see a repeat of the previous two performances in the capital.
FAO team – please do not be shellshocked when the team bottom of the league tries really hard against you!

Although it’s as clear as day we’re the only team they try against. If we can’t beat them this time we don’t deserve to win anything. Perfect opportunity for the players to get revenge for that defeat but I’d rather we went in looking for a big win rather than revenge

Time to right a wrong and punish that tin pot club. Should be an easy tie

Let’s make the last defeat there a distant memory and Get right into them.

Rangers should have enough quality to overcome the side sitting at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership and Hearts form since they beat the Light Blues would indicate it was a freak result rather than a sign of things to come – if only football was played on paper.
