As Craig Levein once said – “It’s all a good laugh isn’t it?”

Kilmarnock have been relegated from the Scottish Premiership in what is almost the cherry on top of the icing on the cake, an added bonus if you like.

For the last few years we have seen their players cheat their fans by trying – quite obviously – harder against us than against any other team in the league, it’s worth remembering that our dominance in the league this season has seen us only score four goals against Killie with zero against in the three games between the sides, if only they’d made the same effort against other teams they might not be heading for the Championship.

It was a defeat to Kilmarnock that cost Pedro Caixinha his job, remember Kirk Broadfoot’s successful but embarrassing attempts to get Ryan Jack sent off? We also lost a valuable player, who has never been the same again, due to the Ayrshire side’s amateur playing surface, Jamie Murphy never getting to fulfil the promising start he made to his Rangers career.

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

We’ll also see the back of players such as Gary Dicker and Alan Power who took great delight in raising their game against us, they’ve finally been found out for the hammer throwers that they are, if ever there were players perfectly suited to Scotland’s second tier it is this pair – it must’ve been the astro, eh Gary?

Two plastic pitches gone in one season, just when things couldn’t get much better, ah well, bye, bye Killie, you won’t be missed.
