Craig Moore knew exactly what he was doing when he posted a picture of himself with long-time friend and former Rangers and Australia teammate Kevin Muscat – the Marinos F. Yokohama boss being one of many names linked with the vacant managerial position at Ibrox.
Not only this but Moore, who is regularly back at the club for Rangers TV is now an agent. The timing of his meeting with a potential candidate is purely a coincidence, right?
Just caught up with this guy. First time in a couple of years we have both been back same time in Oz. Tells me he won the league in Japan 😂😂😂
Great to catch up with Musky. pic.twitter.com/jmdWgZAq12— Craig Moore (@CraigMoore_18) November 19, 2022
Well, according to big Oz it is, responding to one suspicious fan with:
“Good mates not allowed to meet up now?”
There is absolutely no way that Moore and Muscat didn’t speak about the possibility of moving back to Glasgow to take on his former mentor Ange Postecoglu and that our former skipper wouldn’t have fed any information back to Ross Wilson.
For all we know, Rangers employed Moore as an intermediary to assess what Muscat’s terms and conditions would be and what he would be looking for in terms of assurances if he were to take the job.
Muscat has been dismissed as being a potential option without any real justification but he remains someone who I would like to see interviewed.
He has the right ideas on how the game should be played, has success at a comparable level in terms of club football and also has experience in two markets that we have seen Scottish football pick up a few gems from recently – he’s also not one for taking any nonsense.
After the last four years, the style of football should now be a consideration. If we employ someone with a similar game plan, how can we possibly expect different results?
