Hopefully, Ross Wilson will already be doing the groundwork so that Michael Beale can get the striker in that he has hinted at having his eye on for a summer swoop.

We’ve not seen many names linked other than the usual regurgitation of domestic targets like Kevin Nisbet, Lawrence Shankland and Lyndon Dykes. The reality is that I’d be surprised if any of those names are anywhere to be seen on our sporting director’s desk.

On name that probably will be and that Vital Rangers has covered extensively in the past is Josh Maja and writing on his Twitter page, Football Insider’s transfer correspondent Fraser Fletcher has hinted that he could well have a “strong offer” from north of the border.

Are Rangers named? No. But, it doesn’t to take a genius to work out that if Maja just had offers from England, Fletcher would have just said England. Will Celtic be interested? Probably not because they have just added a striker to their squad to make way for the departed Georgios Giakoumakis – they also have Albian Ajeti still on their books too.

Rangers previous interest when he was younger, under contract and before a serious back injury suggests that we would also be interested in him on a free, after all, it was Alfredo Morelos he had been lined up to replace and the Colombian could well be out the door this summer.
