As a former centre-half of absolutely no repute, the goals against column is now beginning to give me more excitement than the goals for – the league is all but done but can we really concede less than 10 goals in the process?

It’s a big ask but one that would be made easier if we go into the final 10 games without any further damage and with Hamilton Accies up next, that shouldn’t be too big a stretch, they aren’t prolific goal scorers and are bottom of the Scottish Premiership for a reason.

As always, the artificial surface will have to be taken into consideration as will the soon to be recommenced Europa League and, as a result, I’d expect to see a few changes from Steven Gerrard.

This is the team I’d go with to get the three points against Brian Rice’s men:

Cedric Itten deserves a start, his cameo appearances have forced Steven Gerrard’s hand and the Swiss international was unlucky that Alfredo Morelos’s ban coincided with Kemar Roofe’s return to fitness, however, given the nature of the surface, and the latter’s injury history, he should get a chance to prove what he can do from the first whistle.

Ryan Jack is in a similar position, he’s done well since came back into the team but there is no need to play him when there are other options available, Glen Kamara being the obvious choice, in defence, Leon Balogun might swap with Filip Helander but with a week until the next fixture I’d keep the big Swede in.

At this time of year the artificial surfaces can be a bit easier to play on, the Scottish weather playing it’s part in helping to provide a surface more conducive to free flowing football, we’ve got a decent run of games until the next Old Firm fixture, maximum points from them all and we won’t be far away from the promised land of 55.
