A manager might be top of Ross Wilson’s to-do list, however, there is a transfer window on the horizon and a Rangers squad that is in desperate need of fine-tuning.

There is a core of senior players who the next manager will be able to rely on – whether or not you think some of them can be trusted is another matter – and a supporting cast of academy youngsters who will, hopefully, play a more prominent role of the coming years.

As well as the numerous players who will be out of contract next summer, there will also, probably, be one or two departures. After all, we still need to have money coming into the club on top of traditional revenue streams.

One such player who will still command a decent transfer fee is Glen Kamara and, according to a report in The Herald, is being eyed for a move to Serie A.

On occasion, the Scottish Premiership has not looked like the most suitable arena for him to display his talents and it has been no surprise to see some of his best football getting played in European games and with Finland.

Salernitana are said to be the side wanting to add Kamara to their ranks with former Gers loanee Lassana Coulibaly also at the Italian outfit – there was a player there after all – but there is no mention of a potential fee after a £10million summer move to France failed to come to fruition.

The 27-year old still has a few years left on his contract so Rangers very much hold all the cards, however, much will come down to who the new manager is and what type of player he wants to bring in, someone with the Fin’s experience could still fetch a similar amount to that of Joe Aribo. He is unlikely to fetch anywhere near his peak valuation of £20m given to him by The Rangers Review last summer though.
