Rangers are said to be braced to receive a £10 million bid from Nice for Glen Kamara on transfer deadline day.

Such an offer would be significant and could be attractive to the player but it only could be sanctioned if the club has a quality replacement line up to come in and contribute immediately.

Given his superb showing against PSV in the Champions League decider last week, it is no surprise that clubs from bigger leagues such as Ligue Un are targeting the Finland international. The only shock will be if Nice are the sole club who are pursuing the silky midfielder.

The French Riviera club, owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe through his multinational company INEOS would offer a significant lifestyle change as well as an almost certain uplift in salary but one trade off would be the level of European football in the season ahead.

Rangers have a seat at the top table in the Champions League whilst Nice will be taking part in the Europa Conference League.

This is just one of the likely talking points on Thursday as the transfer window moves to its conclusion. There are still one or two exits to be sorted at Ibrox whilst it will be a surprise if there is no incoming activity over the course of the day.
