Rangers 150th anniversary crest is on display with pride at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion.

With long standing links between a significant section of both clubs’ supporters groups and now an official working partnership, the relationship continues to grow.

Today, a picture emerged from the Hanseatic city state in the north of Germany showing Rangers 150th annversary crest on a flag flying high alongside the raute emblem of HSV.

Often throughout the season, groups of both clubs visit each other as was the case this weekend but unfortunately for the Bears in Hamburg, the game against Erzgebirge Aue was potponed at short notice due to covid issues.

In addition to branding and marketing, there is a desire for further collaboration between the clubs, especially in fan culture and liaison matters as there are many good practices that could be learned from the German model. Not everything will work or be able to be adopted at Ibrox but there is certainly plenty of room for improvement. Similarly, other ideas for development can be looked at by HSV from what is happening at Ibrox, on and off the pitch, as they continue to rebuild on their own journey back toward the Bundesliga.

For those interested who haven’t yet been to the fantastic city of Hamburg, get involved and go check out all that it and HSV has to offer, you will not regret it.
