Fenerbahce are said to be preparing a deal to bring Antonio Colak to Turkey, underling the competition for the reported Rangers target.

The update comes after the increase in speculation this week around transfer activity with an increased offer said to have been made at Ibrox, for the striker.

The same source in Greece has now reported today that Istanbul giants Fenerbahce want the Croatian international and in return, Dimitris Pelkas would make his way back to PAOK, two years after his switch to Turkey.

Sport24 briefed on the following:

“It is emphasized that Fenerbahce was interested in the 28-year-old forward in previous transfer periods even in the summer of 2020 when PAOK acquired Colak from Rijeka.”

“The issue in such a scenario, apart from the intentions of the teams, has to do with the wishes of the players themselves.”

Agreement

Despite what we have heard from Greece, sources close to Ibrox are not hearing that a bid has been made yet, but neither has any interest been denied.

It could be that Rangers are acting behind the scenes, in negotiations with PAOK but this update today regarding Fenerbahce makes things interesting. Usually, it will determine the transfer process in a specific direction, either toward a particular club or pushed by an agent in order to get a preferred outcome.

The wishes of Colak will decide his future, once a fee is agreed with his current club. Based on his own experiences of Ibrox and the Europa League run last season, you would think that there is enough appeal and attraction to lure him to Glasgow, though he now appears to have another option in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul.

Things are getting interesting.
