Quoted by the official Rangers podcast, former Gers forward Peter Lovenkrands has handed Rangers a warning about their upcoming tie with FC Midtjylland in the Europa League.

We’re at the third qualifying stage and, if we can get through this, we will take on Legia Warsaw or Atromitos to get into the groups of the competition.

A big few weeks await, then, but we need to deal with the Scandinavian side first, and it’s not going to be easy.

Quoted by the podcast, the former Gers marksman had this to say:

“They’re a very good side.

“It’s not like a side who’s been at the top for one or two seasons or been lucky to get there, but they’ve been fighting for the last five, six, seven years.”

He makes a good point too.

This is a seasoned side at this level and they know what it takes to make it into the groups.

Over two legs I think that we can beat them but we will have to be bang at it from the word go and throughout both games.

Meet them with fight and determination and we can progress.

  • Midtjylland apparently like to attack so it should suit us.
But I would take a draw, preferably a scoring draw, but it’s going to be tight
