A career of disrespecting Rangers, why Sutton is banned from Ibrox

So, since Thursday night, Chris Sutton has done nothing but moan, throw his toys out of the pram and even had the audacity to compose an article comparing his refused access to Ibrox to cover the Real Betis v Celtic game for BT Sport to Rangers “Everyone, Anyone” initiative designed to eradicate all forms of discrimination from football.

Does Sutton genuinely see himself as being a member of one of the protected groups that the Equalities Act (2010) covers? I’m not quite sure where “former Celtic player” sits in the spectrum of race, religion or sexuality to be honest with you.

Rangers have set a “dangerous precedent” according to the pundit, a precedent being defined “as an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances”. I’m pretty sure that football clubs around the world have banned individuals that have continuously disrespected them in public before and that Sutton isn’t the first.

Rather than looking at his own behaviour, much like a child, he has decided that blaming big, bad, Rangers is going to be his approach, he can’t understand why the club has taken this decision, so, I thought I’d give him a hand.

It’s nothing to do with freedom of speech, plenty of pundits and journalists have criticised Rangers in the past and continue to be given access, maybe it’s because of nonsense like this that Sutton isn’t welcome:

On Mark Warburton:

On Pedro Caixinha:

On Steven Gerrard:

And his favourite subject, Alfredo Morelos…

Now, Sutton isn’t really using offensive language, he does though resort to name calling a few times and seems obsessed with one player getting red cards and suspensions every week whilst ignoring plenty of other players that have done exactly the same or worse, remember that these are just a few samples of him being unprofessional, there are plenty of others.

That he hasn’t reflected on some of the things he’s said in the past speaks volumes about him as a person and pundit, this is, after all the same person who said this:

Yeah, I can’t work out why Rangers wouldn’t want Sutton around Ibrox either….
