For those of a certain age, trying to place this title win is a difficult one.

Better than the Souness revolution, or 9-in-a-row? It’s not easy, but it’s a decision that can only be made based on personal experience and what it means to each individual. For me, this tops them all – apart from Helicopter Sunday, of course.

I’ve never enjoyed a whole season as much put it that way. Even when we had dips – Livingston for example – it was different, we should have won and the best chance they had was from their own half, we had changed, it wasn’t the same team, it wasn’t the same mistakes.

Steven Gerrard was rotating his squad and it was working, players were relentless, ruthless and determined to let nothing stop them from achieving their goals both at home and abroad, we had finally become a team cast in our manager’s own image.

If you can’t see the similarities between Gerrard’s on pitch leadership and James Tavernier’s then you haven’t been paying attention, setting the example, never letting the head drop and going again and again, until victory is secured.

Who scored Rangers first competitive goal of the season?

The fact that Celtic have been in free-fall since their embarrassing elimination from the Champions League that saw Neil Lennon’s ill advised “if you don’ t want to be here, leave” rant, which backfired in quite spectacular fashion, has made it even more enjoyable, it’s been a canter, yes, every 90 minutes has been stressful, but really, was there anything to worry about?

Turns out, we were right all along…
