On Thursday afternoon, it was confirmed that Rangers Champions League 3rd qualifying round would be televised by Premier Sports.

The Irish broadcaster already has the rights to show the Scottish Cup as well as the BetFred League Cup so it is a familiar name to most fans.

They have also previously screened Rangers qualifying ties, over the last few seasons.

Premier Sports will show Rangers home tie in the 3rd qualifying round – the broadcast rights for each qualifier is held by the home club to sell to the highest bidder.

On Monday (1100 UK), the 3rd qualifying round draw will take play at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland – meaning that Rangers opponents and home/away schedule will soon be unveiled.

The first leg takes place on 3/4 August with the return leg coming the following week on 10th August.

Rangers last Champions League qualifier was back in August 2011 when Ally McCoist’s side were beaten by Malmo, 2-1 on aggregate.
