Lennon here for two-in-a-row? Looks like it!

One of the more enjoyable aspects of this season has been seeing Neil Lennon regularly throw his players under a bus when things haven’t gone his way.

That he is involved in recruitment for next season and is “comfortable” with his position is truly remarkable when you consider how this year has unfolded, but is something we should take full advantage of.

Before the transfer window had shut in August, Lennon was telling players to leave if they didn’t want to be there and with several approaching the last year of their contracts and four loan players featuring in their match day squads, you would think that a new direction is needed at the top – not according to Neil, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

“Yes, of course, I’m involved in the planning for the next transfer window.”

And when asked if he would be around next season, he said, rather spikily:

“I haven’t said that I wouldn’t be.

“You are never secure in your role as a manager, especially when you have been through difficult times, but I’m quite comfortable with the way my position is at the minute.

But the strangest comment came on supporter pressure after failing to get “The Ten” in which he seemed to try to shift the blame:

“I don’t think it’s unfair or unrealistic, but we’ve had mitigating circumstances throughout the campaign, some of which I can’t divulge publicly.

“The ten was the Holy Grail really, and it may be beyond us. But we won’t give it up just yet.”

Will Lennon still be here next season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So, he is willing to make an excuse without saying what it is, as always when it comes to Celtic and in particular, Neil Lennon, it’s always someone else fault.
