Celtic’s AGM featured the usual nonsense and Sevco related idiocy but aside from that, Neil Lennon saw it as a great opportunity to get the excuses out for his side’s current form, as reported by The Daily Record.

He used Covid-19, anxiety, fatigue and obviously, the lack of fans in the ground as reasons why his side has been under performing and currently sit 13 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Now to the logical man, these are all understandable, however, none of these excuses legislate for their stinking form in Europe….

Specifically, when he was asked about how important it was to get the fans back, he said:

“I think from our point of view we’ve missed the fans as much as any other club in Europe.

“The players have really found it difficult, empty stadiums is not normal and I think it’s affects them subconsciously at times.

“We don’t have that rawness in the atmosphere, that electricity.

“It’s been really difficult for them to adapt to the empty stadium and we know that most times it’s full whether we’re home or away.”

Oh dear, is it not his job to make sure his players do adapt? Other managers have been able to do it, Rangers have certainly managed to cope ok but then again our success is probably more down to the collusion between the two clubs to ensure they don’t win “The Ten” rather than anything that our management team has implemented on the training ground.

Will Lennon finish the season with Celtic?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Bizarrely, Lennon also pointed to the season that we went into administration, had to sell our best player halfway through, and had a massive points deduction as an example of when he “turned it around”, well if that’s what he is relying on again, he could be in for a bit of  bumpy ride.
