Four kits from Castore for 22/23, surely not?

No sooner have released our third kit for next season than rumours began circulating about another possible effort from Castore being leaked, however, this one doesn’t seem quite as legitimate.

The images, originating from a twitter account from Turkey showed a red and white away strip similar to the ones seen in 1987/90 and 2006/07 with a diagonal split in the two colours, had they got it right it might have looked ok but as you can see for yourself, it’s a little bit off…

Every summer this seems to happen nowadays, remember the orange and blue Hummel strip or the white kit with the union flag on the shoulder? The origins of this top seem to be identical in that a punt has been taken by rogue manufacturers and this is the final result.

Although just the third kit has been officially released, we have already seen fans get sent the new home kit by mistake and also a video of John Lundstram modelling an all black change strip too, the orange third kit could be seen on a railing in the background but there was no sign of a white one.

Castore have released four strips in each of their two seasons with us – a special home kit worn once against St Mirren last year and this year’s 15oth anniversary kit as well as the usual three – but I just can’t see us starting the season with four kits, I’m not even sure that would be permitted by the SPFL.

It used to just be transfers that were speculated on, and that was more than enough, hopefully this is the last strip rumour especially if they are all as bad as this one.
