Rangers manager Ally McCoist wants striker Kyle Lafferty to commit his future to the club by signing a new contract. The Northern Ireland international is out of contract at the end of the 2012/2013 season, and McCoist wants to tie up his future asap.

Lafferty didn’t get off to the greatest starts to his Rangers career after signing from Burnley. but he has soon settled and has scored title winning goals in each of the last three seasons.

The big man scored a hat-trick on the last day of the season against Kilmarnock earlier in the year to help clinch three in a row for Rangers. McCoist will want to see him do it all again this year to clincch four in a row, and for the forseeable future too.

Meanwhile, Rangers are assessing trialist Joe Sise this week. The Swedish under 21 international will be hoping to impress in a week long trial at Murray park.
