Rangers are “leading the race” for Arron Ramsey according to Sky Sports, an incredible turn of events given the salary that thee Wales international is currently on.

The report details other clubs that have been linked with a move for the former Arsenal midfielder but that he could well be on his way to Ibrox:

“Rangers are leading the chase to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on Deadline Day, according to Sky in Italy.

“The Scottish club are in talks with Juventus over a loan with an option to sign him permanently in the summer. A number of Premier League clubs have been considering a move for Ramsey in this window.

“However, we are told Crystal Palace and Wolves are focusing their attentions elsewhere.
Sky in Italy have previously reported that Juve would pay only part of his wages.”
It is a truly remarkable story and one that still has a long way to run, a player who was genuine world class just a few years ago could be spearheading our attempt to retain the Scottish Premiership title, we though today might be the day we signed someone from Serie A, surely nobody in their right mind thought that the 31-year old – who is contracted at the Italian giants until 2023 – would be the one in question.
It’s been a few years since Rangers made – or even attempted to make – a signing of this magnitude, Frank de Boer potentially being the last “big” name to join from one of European football’s big guns.
As Fabrizio Romano says, “here we go!”.
