Things could be about to get very interesting for Rangers fans.

The transfer guru – Fabrizio Romano – has gone one further than his initial report which was covered by Rangers this morning that claimed the Light Blues were hoping to negotiate a deal for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey by revealing that a deal had already been agreed on his Twitter page:

“Rangers are pushing to sign Aaron Ramsey. They’re trying to convince the player – loan with buy option agreed with Juventus but is now up to Ramsey and his agent.”

Ross Wilson can be very persuasive so, hopefully, the 30-year old can be romanced by the lure of a packed Ibrox, the prospect of a Europa League tie against Borussia Dortmund and the chance to win trophies.

The Wales international doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to keeping fit but he is an outstanding player and exactly what we need in our team – the proverbial missing piece of the jigsaw.

As yet. There is nothing coming out of Ibrox but, as in the case of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s appointment, fans will soon be tracking the skies to see if there are any private keys coming into land in Glasgow.

A quiet start to the window could end with a flurry of activity as we look to bring cover in at right-back in the shape of Mateusz Żukowski, John Souttar coming in on a permanent deal and one of the biggest coups in Scottish football history- who said transfer deadline day was boring?!
