Rangers look like they will miss out on signing up Ryan Kent at Ibrox this summer after Liverpool placed a big price tag on him, as reported by The Daily Record.

It was confirmed earlier this month by Managing Director Stewart Robertson that the club would be seeking to make the winger’s stay in Glasgow permanent after a productive season so far.

However, The Record report that Steven Gerrard feels he is losing the fight to sign him, with Liverpool likely to look for a fee of around £8m-£10m for his services.

Clearly that rules Rangers out of any big transfer move given our lack of available resources.

The paper also say any hopes of signing him up on another loan have now been squashed.

Kent has already been sent out on loan from Anfield five times, so are unlikely to sanction another temporary move when his raised profile at Rangers has made him an attractive prospect for buying clubs.

The winger has appeared to enjoy his time at Ibrox, but sadly it seems like it will be a short love affair.
