As with last summer, Alfredo Morelos’s future at Rangers is set to be the ongoing saga of the transfer window.

Porto are the main side said to be interested in signing the 25-year old striker with Serie A’s Calgiari also rumoured to have had a bid rejected, so far we’ve not even seen anything close to the £16million Lille bid that was rejected 12 months ago.

The Colombian international has been tipped to stay for at least another season though with former Ger, Michael Ball, not convinced that his time at Ibrox is quite up, as reported by This is Futbol:

“Alfredo is always rumoured with leaving the football club.

“He seems like he’s very ambitious and wants to go to that next level again but I think there’s a possibility that he will stay for one more year. I don’t think he will be at Rangers in two or three years’ time. I think he will move on.

“Rangers will cash in at some point.”

The two things he has always wanted is Champions League football and being able to play for his country, both of which he is currently able to achieve whilst at Rangers, and for all that he might look forward to the day where he doesn’t have to play the same team four times a season or play on plastic pitches, he isn’t in the same rush to leave as he once appeared to be.

Will Morelos be here next season?

No

The player, club and the player’s agent will all know what the magic number is that any potential suitor has to match, at the moment, nobody is anywhere near it, on reflection, it’s not a bad problem for Steven Gerrard to have to deal with.
