Alfredo Morelos has been the subject of transfer speculation for well over a year now and the Colombian international could be closer to the exit door if reports coming out of his home country are to be believed, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Pipe Sierra is a journalist for WinSports, a media outlet that Morelos has used before when holding interviews during speculation and he has claimed that Lille have offered €20million (£18.6m) for the 24-year old.

Further to this, he also claims that West Brom and Fiorentina are looking to make their interest more concrete with possible rival bids to the French outfit.

Morelos has – despite the speculation – been in decent form, with a resurgence in the last few games no doubt down to the extra work he put in during the international break, he has looked sharper and much more like his old self.

His goal against Hibs deserved better defending from his colleagues at the back but it was definitely a reminder of what Gers fans will be missing if he does go, however, the other aspect of his game that often gets forgotten is his durability.

Considering Roofe's injury, would you sell Morelos just now for £18m?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Despite receiving a nasty gash to his thigh against Dundee United last weekend he still played against Lincoln Red Imps on Thursday when it would have been easy to sit the game out, Kemar Roofe has definitely looked like he has the quality to replace Morelos on the park – the issue could be getting him on it.

A potential relapse of the calf issue that saw him miss a large percentage of the season with Anderlecht has put El Bufalo’s importance to Steven Gerrard’s side up a notch or two until he returns to action, if the Light Blues do receive a satisfactory offer, expect negotiations to be dragged out until Roofe is fit to step in, or a replacement is found.
