Rangers ace underlines desire to stay at Ibrox

|

Quoted by Sky Sports, striker Jermain Defoe has revealed his desire to stay at Ibrox for the foreseeable future with the player showing no signs of slowing down yet.

The forward turned 37 a day after scoring a fine hat-trick against Hamilton Academical and it is clear that he is a player that looks after himself better than most – even in this modern era of sports science and nutrition.

He still looks so sharp and he is clearly enjoying his football up here, with him one of the leading players for the Golden Boot this season, alongside Alfredo Morelos.

And, indeed, it looks as though he wants to stay past the end of his loan deal which ends at the end of this season.

He said:

“I want to stay.

“It’s a special football club – you feel it.”

Short but sweet from Defoe on his future but that’s all we needed it to be. He’s a top player and as long as he is here and scoring goals I don’t think anyone will complain.
