Quoted by the Scottish Sun, Rangers man Andy Halliday has said that the squad is ready for anything going into the Europa League group stages with Feyenoord up first at Ibrox on Thursday.

The Gers were not good in the game against Celtic and looked timid but at every other time this season we have looked pretty strong and I think that Old Firm match will have taught us a lesson.

Indeed, we need to go about these bigger games with the same aggressive, attacking approach that has served us well in the lesser matches and it seems as though – judging by Halliday’s comments – that the Gers are raring to do exactly that.

He said:

“This is a level above, it is a real test and all the fixtures are going to come with different issues. The one on Thursday is one we are looking forward to.

“It is a step above, but it is one I think we can handle.”

Good words, and now we need to see them being put into action on Thursday night.

We are a much better side when we are on the front foot getting amongst the other side and when we’re at home we really need to get them under the pump.
