Writing in his regular Sky Sports prediction column, pundit Charlie Nicholas has offered his take on the first round of Europa League fixtures and has guessed at what Rangers v Feyenoord could end up being.
The Gers take on the Dutch side this Thursday evening at Ibrox in what is going to be a tight game but there’s certainly plenty to be excited about and if we can get the edge on them early we could well win it.
For the former striker, though, it could prove a draw in the end with him suggesting that the Gers do not quite have the experience to win all three points on the night.
He said:
“It is not an easy night. It will be tense and very physical. I don’t know if Rangers quite have the knowledge to get through these games yet,” before going with a 1-1 draw.
He’s right in that it’ll be close but to say we don’t have the know-how to win these games is wrong – look at some of the results we’ve had this season and last season in Europe.
It will be close, but I think we can nick it.
