Glen Kamara has been tipped to rise to the very top, with the latest commendation coming from former Rangers goalkeeeper Antti Niemi.

This comes after VitalRangers reported yesterday on a link in the Liverpool Echo crediting Everton with an interest in Rangers midfield pass master.

The current Finland keeper coach has viewed Kamara at close quarters and has no doubts about his ability.

He commented, “It is quite obvious any time I am watching the matches that he is one of the most important players for Rangers.”

“From what I have seen of Rangers they are playing really well and have a group of extremely talented players who are coached really well, but Glen just adds something different to the team.”

“It is very obvious that he understands football, when he receives the ball he is already steps ahead and knows exactly what he wants to do with the ball.”

“When you watch how he plays football, it looks so simple, but he executes everything so brilliantly and he really is a joy to watch.”

“I have no doubt that he could go down and play for the biggest clubs in the English Premier League, Bundesliga or Serie A.”

“He has the ability to play for any good team. If you put Glen Kamara in a top six Premier League team would he look out of place? My answer is simply no, he would look very good.”

With their nation heading for the re-scheduled Euro 2020 in a few months time, Niemi and Kamara will be aiming that for the Finns to make an impact on the tournament, their first ever major tournament at mens’ senior level.

Niemi was firm in his belief that Kamara has been a major factor in the recent upturn.

The former Hearts and Southampton man continued:

“I believe the current national team is the best we have ever had and Kamara is an important part of that squad.”

“Anytime we all get together for the internationals it is just like a group of friends coming together and it really is a great team.”
