Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos, has been the subject of speculation recently and Everton are the latest to enter the bidding for the Colombian international according to Sport Witness.

The 29-goal striker was rumoured to be attracting the attention of Ligue 1 side Rennes, but he would be unlikely to take what would be, in essence, a backwards step despite being in a higher profile league – and the obvious riches that a potential £15million deal would bring.

He has also ruled out a move to Qatar, presumably for the same reasons, which is understandably given that he has never been shy about his career aspirations of playing at the highest level.

Where does Rangers "target" Lyndon Dykes current play his football?

Gers gaffer, Steven Gerrard, was non-committal when asked about the likelihood of Morelos still being at Rangers when the season kicked off again but gave a textbook politicians answer straight out of the Football Manager playbook:

“Alfredo is a fantastic footballer.

“He scores goals in big volumes and I’m really looking forward to him getting match fit, up to speed and ready to play.

“But I suppose what you want me to say is, whether he will be here next year. That’s the million dollar question.

“I want all my best players here, I’ve said that many times.

“For us to be successful, we need our best players fit, available and out there on the pitch.

“But you and I know that every player has his price. Will we get bids for our best players? It’s quite possible.

“That’s something I can’t control, so it’s something we are just going to have to manage going forward.”

Every player does have their price and if Rangers attract bids in the region of £20m it will be very difficult for them to turn their nose up – regardless of the importance of the upcoming season – as long as Ross Wilson and Gerrard have guaranteed goals lined up to replace him of course.
