On a blue Monday for all of a Rangers perspective, it was a nice sight to see Ianis Hagi kicking a ball once again.

The talented Romanian international released some footage on his social media accounts earlier today, showing that he has certainly lost no enthusiasm on his road to recovery from a serious knee injury sustained earlier this season agains Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup.

Most reasonable expectations would give the attacker an outside chance of making a return for pre-season or soon after but his Dad, the legendary Gheorghe Hagi has other ideas.

He believes that his boy is on his way and can make a return for the Europa League Final! Ok then, no pressure at all on both counts, especially after the events of yesterday.

Faith

Hagi Snr loves his son dearly and is a firm believer in his ability as a player, never missing a chance to talk up his talents.

Whilst the optimism has the right sentiment, there is not a chance that Hagi Jnr would be ready in around six weeks time for first team football, never mind the platform of a major European final.

However, his father said the following to sport.ro :

“After (eliminating) Dortmund, they have the ability to play in the final. Ianis told me he was going to play in the final. There are two more strong teams, Barcelona and Lyon that are on the other side (of the draw)”

All in good time. The most important thing is that Ianis Hagi returns in the best possible condition in due course as he still has plenty to offer at Ibrox.
