The weekend proved to be a bit of a let-down in the end and now the Gers must assess where things went wrong and then go again for future big games.
You have to say that it is in the bigger games we still look a bit short.
In Europe we’re doing nicely, of course, but we still need to show some bottle and grit when it comes to getting close to honours.
We have a manager who knew what to do as a player to get the job done but as a manager he is obviously a novice and I think, at times, we saw that slightly at the weekend.
I do, however, think he remains the right man and his comments post-match have served as a reminder of that with his passionate and honest assessment:

He’ll learn from this, of course, and the players need to follow suit – though it seems as though some might not get the chance.
Let’s look at the reaction to his comments…
He’s really targeted Sadiq here. Can’t see Sadiq playing another game

Can ye send big Groot back to Roma now

Only a deluded fan would have said it’s going ok even without the result today. We weren’t competitive at Celtic, let in last minute goals at Aberdeen & Motherwell, lost at Livi, dire against Hamilton. The unbeaten run in Europe papers over the cracks #FollowFollow

He’s been in the job 4 months and made wholesale changes to the team both in personnel and style. He’s well aware we are far from the finished article.
