Rangers have been linked with some exciting players recently, available either on a pre-contract or with rumoured transfer fee release clauses well within our budget and a recent report has claimed that Ross Wilson has begun forward planning for the middle of midfield by identifying a possible target in Spain.

Playing for Racing Santander, Pablo Torre is a 19-year old youth international who is currently playing in the country’s third tier after financial difficulties saw them drop down from La Liga, he is though, attracting interest from Real Madrid as well as clubs in Italy so there will be plenty of competition for his signature.

The Daily Record has revealed the fee that it would take to sign Torre and it would be affordable, even without departures:

“Racing have tied him down on a contract to 2025 with a transfer release clause, believed to be around £4 million.

“Rangers have been alerted to his progress and Torre will be watched by their recruitment team.

“But clubs in Spain, including Real Madrid, and Italy are also tracking the talented 19-year-old.”

Torre has three goals and five assists in his 15 league appearances, a decent return for a player who plays as a number 8 with an attacking role, he would fit perfectly into Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s system alongside someone like Glen Kamara – Scott Arfield won’t be around forever.

It’s the latest indication that our recruitment department is casting it’s net further than ever in the hope of finding players who can improve the first-team squad whilst also having the potential to make us a small fortune one day.
