Only One More In For Ally

Ally McCoist has conceded that he only has scope to bring in one more centre half after being unable to offer trialist Sam Kelly a deal at the club.

McCoist has had to let the youngster move on despite impressing as he knows he is almost at the limit of his budget now and he desperately wants to add to the defensive positions and we are currently trialling Marius Zaliukas whilst also continuing with our interest in Boris Pandza, but even then he knows it’s probably going to be the case of one of the other.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

‘I’ve obviously made it clear we’d love to bring in another centre half and Marius has done really, really well. He says he hasn’t done an awful lot lately but you wouldn’t know it to look at him because he’s certainly in good shape. Obviously himself and Boris are two players we’ve been looking at and I’m very keen to strengthen that department. I’m not sure if there’s a budget for both and I would need to speak to Craig Mather about that.’

McCoist says though that not being able to offer Kelly a deal indicates he’s probably only got room for one.
