Juan Alegria, the 18 year old Colombian youth international has today dropped a massive hint on his social media channels, fuelling speculation that he is jetting in to Glasgow.

The player, currently with FC Honka in Finland shares the same World In Motion agency as Alfredo Morelos so it is clear to see why Alegria has been mentioned as a protege to El Bufalo, should the anticipated move to Rangers be completed.

Earlier this morning on his Instagram account, Alegria shared a snap from a hotel in the vicinity of Amsterdam Schipol airport.

Now, given that the lad is far from home and the Finnish football season is not currently in play, it raises the question as to where his destination will be, once he boards a flight from Amsterdam, as expected, on a cold, grey January day.

This one seems more like business than pleasure.

The story was picked up by the Daily Record today who also carried the words used by Gerrard at recent press conference when the Rangers manager spoke of the interest in the Colombian.

He said, “It’s slightly different (the proposed Alegria deal). We are well aware of the player and his talent. We are always looking to recruit right through the club.

“This is something the academy has had a closer eye on than myself but we are very much aware of the boy. There is something in that one but there is nothing to report on it as of yet.”

Further news on this one could be available very soon. Whilst Juan Alegria would not be part of the first team picture at Ibrox any time soon, his arrival would create an interesting sub-plot to Morelos at Rangers and the youngster would surely benefit from having a compatriot and role model by his side.
