Alfredo Morelos, John Lundstram and Fashion Sakala will all risk missing the second leg away to Red Star Belgrade if they are booked tonight at Ibrox.

No Rangers players are suspended for tonight’s game as the Scottish champions seek to put one foot firmly toward the quarter-final by securing a positive result to take to Serbia next week.

Unfortunately, potential bans are another hurdle to be negotiated in European football and it is likely that Morelos and Lundstram will play from the start in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s line-up so this issue won’t really cloud the manager’s thinking too much.

On the other hand, five Red Star players (Ivanić, Katai, Krstičić, Pavkov, Srnić) are in the same danger of a suspension so it is likely that something will give ahead of the return leg.

Meanwhile, the Rangers boss has stated that a supposed favourites tag is of no interest to him and he is primarily concered with what his team put into action on the pitch:

“For me, that’s not important. We have to do our business on the pitch that’s the most important thing. That’s what we are going to do and trying to do.”

Following Dortmund, there will be an element of expectation in the air at Ibrox and rightly so. The supporters know what the team is capable of on this stage and the players have a fantastic chance against an opposition on a similar level to break through into the last eight of the Europa League.

Nights like this are what Rangers is all about.
