Serdar Gözübüyük will be the man in the middle tonight as the referee to take charge between Rangers and Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League round of 16 first leg.

The Dutchman leads five compatriots to make up the full team of UEFA officials with the others as follows:

Assistant referees –  Joost van Zuilen, Johan Balder.

Video Assistant Referee – Jochem Kamphuis.

Fourth official – Sander Van Der Eijk

Clarity

There will be no issues with communication from the Rangers bench with Gio van Bronckhorst, Roy Makaay and co able to get their point across very clearly, if required, in a common language.

So far this season, Gözübüyük has presided over 20 Eredivisie games whilst he has held the whistle in four Champions League games, one Europa League fixture (last month when he dished out six yellow cards in Porto’s 2-1 win over Lazio. The 36-year old also featured in the Europa Conference League game between Santa Clara and Partizan Belgrade back in August at the start of this season.

He has dished out an average of 5.5 cards across his European competition duties so far this term.
