More Off Pitch Rumbles

A spokesman for Charles Green has issued a statement on the Official Site tonight following the publication and broadcast on STV earlier this evening.

The statement refers to what the club call ‘misleading and inaccurate information’ being released with Charles Green being ‘appalled by this blatant attempt to discredit him.’

I believe this is in reference to the following two links.

Please click here and then here for more information on what led to the statement being released.

As can be seen from the links above the statement relates to the claim that Mr Green allegedly signed off on the appointment of Craig Whyte and his associate Aidan Earley as directors of Sevco 5088 Limited.

In response, the spokesman for Mr Green said.

‘These documents are not correct or valid and he did not sign Craig Whyte or his associate on as directors of Sevco 5088. Mr Green was the sole director until he resigned and became the founder director of Sevco Scotland, formed by Scottish Solicitors.’

The statement goes on to say that if the documentation had been correct, then given Sevco 5088 was the initial bid vehicle, then the administrators would have noticed that they were negotiating the sale of the club to a company which had a director who was ‘clearly forbidden from being involved with it’.

Part of the statement also adds.

‘It should strike people as deeply suspicious that these documents are being filed today 11 months after they were supposedly signed and on other documents Mr Green’s home address has been mysteriously changed without his knowledge.’

Pointing out that Field Fisher Waterhouse filed the document publicly seeking to strike off the company, but four months later directors appointments are now being ‘supposedly filed’.

The statement ends by pointing out that these matters are now in the hands of lawyers, who are preparing a file to send to the Police and therefore Mr Green can make no further comment on the details of that process.

Unfortunately off pitch matters continue to take the limelight away from what the team has achieved this year. Hopefully they will all soon be dealt with in the appropriate way and Rangers as a whole can get back to focusing purely on football and nothing but football.
