Midfielder should “hold his horses” according to BT pundit as international is linked with move

Chris Sutton has been speaking about his favourite subject again – Rangers, this time it is about the speculation linking Glen Kamara with a move away from the Ibrox club.

Sutton speaking on the Ladbrokes Social Club and reported in The Daily Record said of the speculation:

“My view is do it for longer. We’re judging him and yeah he was good at Dundee and he moved to a big club in Rangers, but he’s only been in the door five minutes”.

“Hold your horses, that’s my feeling”.

Steven Gerrard recently informed the press that scouts have been in attendance at Ibrox to watch Kamara who has been a revelation since his £50k signing from Dundee in January.

Although he had a slow start to the season, Kamara has been in fine form of late and has been keeping Joe Aribo out of the starting XI.

Rangers may feel that, despite Kamara’s form, they are well equipped to deal with his loss especially if they are able to command a sizeable transfer fee, they could secure a replacement and still pocket a sizeable portion.

Rumours have already started that one potential replacement is Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson, although he is a different type of player, he would fit the profile of buying potential that can be developed, then sold at a profit.

Rangers wouldn’t have expected to get such a quick turn around on their investment but in an ideal world a bidding war between a few English clubs could easily push the Finnish international’s price tag upwards of £10m, Leeds United are already credited with an £8m valuation.

Whether fans of the Old Firm like it or not, they are now feeder clubs or a stepping stone for players looking to move to the English Premiership and as such they should adopt a transfer policy that matches this – Kamara is the textbook example of how to go about business, buy low (or get in for free) and sell high, how long it takes to sell the player is irrelevant.
