Rangers duo Jon McLaughlin and Nathan Patterson, as well as the rest of the panel, have had their Scotland squad numbers confirmed for EURO 2020.

It is 21 and 22 for the Ibrox pair who will hopefully see game time during the competition.

The other squad members with an Ibrox link are John Fleck and Billy Gilmour – with the latter set to be buzzing coming into the camp following Chelsea’s Champions League triumph on Saturday in Porto.

Scotland face off against Holland in Portugal on Wednesday evening, kick off 7.45pm.

In that practice game ahead of the main tournament, Nathan Patterson will be vying for his first senior cap and a chance to display his undoubted talent.

Despite only seven Premiership appearances under his belt during the club season, Patterson’s explosive impact in those games – as well as four games and a goal in the Europa League – have earned him his place in Steve Clarke’s squad.

Not only is he a player for the future, he is a real option for Scotland now.

Stephen O’Donnell would need to be playing very well, in order to keep the Rangers youngster out of the team.

Whether Scotland boss Clarke agrees with that, is another matter entirely.
