Ally McCoist has revealed that Barrie McKay may need surgery on the foot injury he sustained in the friendly against Linfield.

Speaking to the Official Site McCoist said that if that was the opinion of the specialist when McKay sees them on Monday, he would hope the surgery was done right away to give Barrie the best shot of getting back early for next season.

‘It’s disappointing for Barrie that his season is ending this way. I had a chat with him and if any surgery is needed, then we are getting it done now. If anything is needing done then it will be done right away.’

McKay is just the latest injury worry that McCoist has had to deal with ahead of the game against Clyde, as he now joins Andy Little, Dean Shiels, Ross Perry, Lewis Macleod, Anestis Argyriou, Darren Cole and Scott Gallagher as being unavailable for our next game.

It’s very likely our bench with be extremely youthful.
