Manager Ally McCoist has said you can now feel the anticipation surrounding the coming Championship season at the club.
We’ll be looking for our third straight promotion in a tough Championship that will feature the likes of Hearts, Hibernian and Falkirk, and speaking to the Official Site now that pre season training is back in full swing, the gaffer said that the challenge ahead had definitely whetted everyone’s appetites for the coming season, especially the matches against the two Edinburgh sides.
‘This big talking point over the summer has been the addition to the Championship of ourselves, Hearts and Hibs. I’ve had a chat with the boys and we’ve had a good blather about what’s expected of us this season and how we see the competition and the games. There’s going to be a lot of focus on this season and there’s a real anticipation. I can feel it, not just from the players but from the fans and the staff as well.’
McCoist goes on to say that hopefully the club will get a very good start in pre season and not only will our fitness levels and sharpness be right early on, but we’ll get that winning mentality going, play our game, and actually go into the season with some good momentum.
With lots of changes at Hearts and Hibs over the close season, our previous experience of them probably won’t offer much other than just like it does for us, expectation remain the same irrespective of playing in the second tier at the moment, and it’s down to us to meet our expectations better than they do.
