Manager Ally McCoist has said that Chris Boyd returns to us a wiser and better player than he was when he left us.

Having worked with him previously, McCoist knows exactly what he’s getting in Boyd, and he was delighted to see him bag 22 goals last season as it proves he’s lost non of his scoring touch, but of course having played for a number of different clubs at different levels since Rangers previously, he obviously comes back to us now with a lot more experience.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

‘Kris is probably still the most natural finisher in the country. His goal tally last year down at Kilmarnock was sensational really and it’s maybe not for me to say but his goals certainly went a long way to keeping Killie in the division. His finishing skills and prowess have never ever been in question, we believe he’ll come back and do the same again next season.’

McCoist goes on to say that he definitely returns to the club now more ‘experienced and knowledgeable’ as a player, and his time in England, Turkey and America will have certainly opened his eyes to other parts of the game and helped him develop into a more rounded player still, and that will be an asset not only in the first team, but also on the training ground with the other players and our youngsters because he can pass that knowledge on.
